چکیده

We present a catalog of 321 compact radio sources in the declination range 0 > δ > −30. The positions of these sources have been measured with a two–dimensional rms accuracy of 35 milliarcseconds using the NRAOa Very Large Array. Each source has a peak flux density> 50 mJy at 8.4 GHz. We intend for this catalog to be used mainly for selection of phase calibration sources for radio interferometers, although compact radio sources have other scientific uses. a The National Radio Astronomy Observatory is a facility of the National Science Foundation operated under cooperative agreement by Associated Universities, Inc. Subject headings: astrometry — catalogs — radio continuum — techniques: interferometric

Observations of the bright radio sources in the North Celestial Pole region at the RATAN-600 radio telescope

Abstract. A survey of the North Celestial Pole region using the RATAN-600 radio telescope at five frequencies in the range 2.3 to 21.7 GHz is described. Sources were chosen from the NVSS catalogue. The flux densities of 171 sources in the Declination range +75◦ to +88◦ are presented; typical flux density errors are 5-10 percent including calibration errors. About 20 percent of the sources have ...

High dynamic range imaging with a single-mode pupil remapping system ; a self-calibration algorithm for highly redundant interferometric arrays

The correction of the influence of phase corrugation in the pupil plane is a fundamental issue in achieving high dynamic range imaging. In this paper, we investigate an instrumental setup which consists in applying interferometric techniques on a single telescope, by filtering and dividing the pupil with an array of single-mode fibers. We developed a new algorithm, which makes use of the fact t...

Comparison of coronagraphs for high contrast imaging in the context of Extremely Large Telescopes

Aims. We compare coronagraph concepts and investigate their behavior and suitability for planet finder projects with Extremely Large Telescopes (ELTs, 30-42 meters class telescopes). Methods. For this task, we analyze the impact of major error sources that occur in a coronagraphic telescope (central obscuration, secondary support, low-order segment aberrations, segment reflectivity variations, ...

Calibration of Interferometric Envisat/asar Image Mode Products

Interferometric data processing requires careful calibration and validation of the complex input products. Interferometric calibration comprises geometric and phase accuracy aspects. With respect to geometry, orbit and timing parameter have to be calibrated in order to allow accurate geo-coding and optimal processing of the interferometric products. Phase accuracy of the input complex products ...
